"I've been using Bryce for about a year now and must admit that it now occupies more of my spare time than I could ever have imagined. I came across Bryce in the form of a demo on a computer magazine and prior to this I had no experience at all of 3D rendering software. I was particularly taken by Bryce as I've been interested in fractals for a long time and the fractal-based algorithms used in Bryce really caught my eye. I'd always assumed that the computing power to make use of a lot of the ideas of people like Benoit Mandelbrot were out of my reach (they probably were a few years ago) but Bryce changed that perception. The thing that struck me most about Bryce was the ease with which you could just make mountains and stuff by simply clicking on the relevant icon in the work area. A few clicks and you'd created the Himalayas! This doesn't necessarily result in a great picture but it gives you an awful lot of feedback for very little input and it really is quite a pleasing experience. After making a few mountains and lakes I was hooked. I just starting reading every tutorial and book I could lay my hands on and things started to take off. The Bryce interface is really intuitive to use once you get a basic grasp of the workings and you suddenly realize just how much creative power is at your finger tips. At first I found it really difficult to figure out how some people were getting the results I was seeing but figuring out how someone achieved a certain result is probably the best way to learn. I'm still discovering new tricks with Bryce and am constantly setting myself new challenges. The best thing about this program is the way in which the results you achieve are limited purely by your own imagination. I now not only own Bryce but a whole plethora of graphics software that I didn't even know existed until last year. I've always been quite keen on doing the odd sketch and on photography but neither of these creative outlets are a patch on the digital medium. I can't wait to see what happens in the future!
